Multi Roof House

Multi Roof House is a design project for a family of a young couple and wife's mom. The house consists of two floors, with a floor area of only 65m2 per floor, yet requiring a living room, a kitchen, 3 bedrooms, a prayer room and a spacious drying yard. We had to employ staggered floor design for the prayer room to address the space constraint for the homeowner.
To ensure that the prayer room is positioned at the front and all bedrooms receive natural light, we placed a skylight at the end of the house, serving both to illuminate the bedrooms at the back and to utilize light for the drying yard. The construction utilizes 3 traditional tiled roof systems with a requirement for rainwater usage due to the inadequacy of the piped water system in the area.
The homeowner dislikes curved lines, so we opted for straight, square, and flat lines to form the structure of the house, dividing the layers of the building with two paint colors. With limited investment budget, we used simple architectural components, combined with ventilated brick balconies, ensuring cost efficiency while giving the project a creative, contemporary façade.
